Sunday Announcement for September 8, 2019

September 8, 2019

Dear Bulldog Parents,

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up

Constant improvement is a regular theme at Brevard Academy.  We are always looking for ways to improve our systems while keeping student safety at the forefront.  In order to improve and make our drop-off and pick-up as safe and efficient as possible, we need your help.  Please make sure to adhere to the following guidelines during drop-off and pick-up:

  • Be aware of surroundings and practice non-distracted driving.
  • Follow the directions from staff and parent volunteers.
  • Use visitor parking spaces if your child needs more time to get in or out of your car.
  • Stay alert in order to keep traffic moving.

Some helpful tips to avoid the rush:

  • Drop-off is busiest between 7:40-7:45 am.
  • When exiting our parking lot during these times, please turn right in order to allow our buses quick access to the school.
  • Consider taking advantage of our Bulldog Care Programs.
    • Morning Bulldog Care–7:00-7:30 am.
    • Afternoon Bulldog Care–3:00-6:00 pm M-Th, and 3:00-5:30 pm Fri.
  • Student pick-up begins at 3:00.  Arriving before 2:30 creates unnecessary traffic backlogs in our parking lot.  This traffic blocks access to parking spaces for parents who need to pick-up children early for appointments, visitors who need access to the campus after school, and staff and volunteers who need to leave before student dismissal begins.

We have made great improvements to both the drop-off and pick-up procedures since our first day of school, and we will continue to improve.  It takes a highly choreographed and well thought out process to welcome and dismiss 425 students each day. In order to get it done in 25-30 minutes we need everyone’s cooperation and patience.

No School September 13

Brevard Academy will be closed for a Teacher Workday on Friday.  Enjoy the long weekend.

Picture Day is Coming

Picture Day with Lifetouch will be on Friday, September 20 morning in the gym. Please have your child wear his/her uniform since these pictures are for the yearbook as well. Students will not be able to use dress down passes on this day.  Lifetouch will also take class pictures. Ordering forms will be sent home with students. We will also have extra forms for ordering in the office or you can preorder online at mylifetouch.com.

Snacks

An opportunity to donate to your child’s classroom is to send in an extra box of nonperishable snacks; like granola bars, goldfish crackers, peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers. Sometimes students forget their snack and it is helpful to have something on hand in the classroom. Thank you for sharing with others and helping to keep our students at BA ready to learn.

Athletic Message from Coach Jones

Please make sure your athlete has an  athletic packet and physical on file. They have to have one to participate in the games or matches. If you have any questions about athletics please email Coach Jones at cjones@brevardacademy.school.
