BA-CFA Sunday Message–October 28, 2018

October 28, 2018

Good Afternoon,

This is school director Ted Duncan with this week’s announcements and events.  This week we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week.  Information about Red Ribbon Week came home with your child’s report card.  This is an excellent time to talk with your child about the dangers of drugs and steps he/she can take to stay safe.

Please also be aware that as the weather gets colder, being outside is an important part of our day.  Make sure your child has appropriate clothing and footwear that will allow him/her to get outside, especially on days when your child has Outdoor Education.

Red Ribbon Week–October 29-November 2

Brevard Academy says no to drugs.  Officer Light is arranging activities and students will get a chance to show school spirit while saying no to drugs.  Look for more information with your child’s report card.

Monday – Wear Shades to School

Tuesday – Crazy Socks

Wednesday – Costume to school

Thursday – Sports Jersey

Friday – Red Shirt & Jeans (Jeans can only be worn on this day.)

Students not participating in the Red Ribbon themes must be in uniform.

Halloween Reminder

October 31, students will have an opportunity to wear their costumes for Halloween if they wish.  Students should come dressed in costume and bring a uniform to change into.  We will have a costume parade right after morning assembly in the gym.  If you would like to stay for the parade and help your child change from their costume, please park in a designated parking spot.  Don’t forget your camera!   Costumes worn at school may not include face paint, masks or weapons.  Middle School costumes must come from the Core Knowledge curriculum.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for persons ages 18 and older to support middle school students at Brevard Academy. The time commitment is one hour each week, and activities include homework help, reading, games, and art/crafts. Retirees are also encouraged to get involved. For more information, email Ashley Benson at ashleyb@bbbswnc.org.
