BA-CFA Sunday Message–May 13, 2018

May 13, 2018

Good afternoon,

This is School Director Ted Duncan.  On behalf of the entire staff, thank you for all the words of appreciation.  Happy Mothers Day to all of our Bulldog Moms.  Please see below for the important information about the week ahead.

Athletic Awards Banquet

We will hold our annual Athletic Awards Banquet on May 29 at 5:00 pm in the gym.

Be On Time for Testing

As you know, the end of the year also includes testing in grades 3-8.  In an effort to help put a positive spin on testing, we are instituting the “On Time to Test” contest to help get all students in grade 3-8 to school on time and with a protein packed breakfast in their bellies.

On Time to Test Rules (May 18-May 23)–Win a trip to the Forest and Jets Pizza

Every 3rd-8th grade student who is in class at 7:50 am will earn a ticket on each testing day.
Every 3rd-8th grade student who comes to school with a note from a parent stating they had a protein-packed breakfast will earn a ticket on each testing day.
At the end of testing on May 23, we will draw one student from each tested homeroom in grades 3-8.
Winning students will win a trip to the forest and Jets Pizza for lunch on May 25 at 11:30.

May is National Click it or Ticket Month

Help us keep all of our precious bulldogs safe by reminding students to buckle up when they get in the car.  Look for Officer Light to hand out flyers about this important month.

Dress Code

Please make sure that all students are following the dress code.  As the weather gets warmer, shorts, socks, and skirts need to be the appropriate length and color.  Shoes need closed toes and closed heels in order to keep feet safe while outside.

Water Bottles

A hydrated student is a healthy student.  Please make sure to send in a water bottle each day to help our students learn.  During EOG testing, metal water bottles will not be permitted in the classroom.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found has grown.  Before the end of the year, please make sure that you have visited the lost and found to claim any missing items.

Transportation Changes

Please send transportation changes for your children in each morning in order to make certain that we are able to safely get your child.

5th-8th Grade Concert Date Change

Due to a rescheduled soccer game, the 5th-8th grade concert has been rescheduled for May 24 from 5:30-6:30 pm.  We want to make sure that all of our students have the opportunity to participate in this event.

Middle School Elective Sign Up

It is time for rising 7th and 8th grade to sign up for next year’s electives.  Please check your email for our middle school elective sign up form.  If you need a paper copy, please let your child’s homeroom teacher know.  If you did not get the elective sign up sheet, please let your child’s teacher know.

Yearbooks will be here soon!  We ordered a very small number of extras. In order to hold one for your child, please send in $40 cash or check made payable to Brevard Academy. Include with your payment your child’s name, grade and teacher. These will go quick so don’t wait!
